LOW LEVEL LASER THERAPY
Also known as Cold Laser Therapy or PHOTOBIOMODULATION
It is a light therapy using lasers or LEDs to improve tissue repair, reduce pain and inflammation wherever the beam is applied but also diffuse in the surrounding tissues. The effect is not thermal. The light triggers biochemical changes within the cells and can be compared to the process of photosynthesis in plants, where the photons (energy of laser) are absorbed by cells of muscles/nerve or joints and triggers chemical changes in favour of the cells and thus remove any inflammation.
LLLT delivers a beam of light, which when applied to the body at the right wavelength (red to near infra-red), intensity and time, reverss the disease process of a growing number of medical conditions. It works by delivering light to the hundreds of mitochondria that exist in every one of our body”s 370 trillion cells. This provides an energy boost that helps the cells repair and operate at peak performance.
